The Peperpot Nature Park Discovery Bus Tour offers a relaxing and informative journey through Suriname’s cultural landscapes and plantation history. Located across the Suriname River from Paramaribo, Plantage Peperpot was established by Simon Halewijn and once played an important role in Suriname’s agricultural economy through the cultivation of coffee, cocoa, tobacco, and citrus.

In 2009, the former plantation was transformed into Peperpot Nature Park, a protected nature area that combines historical heritage with rich biodiversity. Today, visitors can explore forest trails where wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, lizards, and tropical birds are commonly seen.

The plantation area also contains several historic structures, including the old coffee factory, the drying shed, the former plantation director’s house, and other colonial buildings that reflect the plantation’s past.

This tour combines city sightseeing, cultural experiences, and nature exploration, offering visitors a deeper understanding of Suriname’s history and landscapes.
